Lo and behold...Here is how you do it:1) Download the injectSMAA package: Extract the appropriate DX10 files and place them in your main FSX directory...C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X3) Load FSX in DX10 Preview Mode and make sure AA is NOT checked (it doesn't work anyway).You should no longer have unsightly "jaggies" marring your DX10 flight experience :lol:If you combine this with the DX10 shader fixes for flickering runway textures, night lighting, etc., you should have an almost perfect DX10experience MS and Aces Studio originally intended.BONUS: The package also contains a DX9 version, too. This will allow FSX to run in DX9 with AA, but with no performance hit compared to usingthe in-game AA setting. So, all DX9 users have to do is extract the corresponding DX9 files to your main FSX directory and UNTICK the Anti Aliasingsetting in the Display properties... Yet you will still have AA in-game!Disclaimer: I tested this on an ATI 4870x2, so I don't know if it will work with Nvidia. Tried un-installing msxml4 once again and re-installing from the installer on Disc2. Also didn't work. (I mean really, atleast MS should've checked that the ver on the DVD actually works)As some people have stated in my googling, when you run repair using the msxml installer it just seems to go through instantly without doing anything. This concerned me. Was anything really happening?I was reasoning that since MSXML 4.0 SP2 is installed on my system, and since FSX said it couldn't find it after all this trouble, it must mean FSX is looking for a specific version I haven't tried yet....Then I went to the MS website, and started trawling for and installing security updates for msxml 4.0. Not in any specific order, just randomly getting whatever I could find and installing it. After one of the larger updates (5MB), the game finally worked.That specific update, right as it was installing I immediately thought.... hey, this is gonna work, because for the first time there was some disk activity and the installer didn't just blow right through in no-time.What is that hallowed update? I didn't pay enough attention, sorry, I'd been trying too many things with no luck to keep track. I'm pretty sure it was: could be wrong. I see on this forum that people are talking about FS09; is that an upgrade down load or it is a completely new game? Is it still avaiable? FSX will be soon but many people are having problems with it due to it's higher hardware

Hi Caleb:I'm now back at a computer with FSX installed >Just to clarify, the path for the SDK (only) is written into the Windows Registry by:[Microsoft Flight Simulator X SDK install path]\SDK\ConfigSDK.exeRegardless of how you ended up without ADE being able to find the "active" FSX scenery.Cfg file, as you have discovered, you should be able to simply configure that manually after installation of ADE by navigating:ADE Menu > Settings > Options > {Folders tab}.If under Windows-10 you cannot find the "active" FSX scenery.Cfg file in:C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\FSX...or inC:\Users\[user account or profile name]\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX\ sub-folder...it is possible that you installed FSX when logged into Windows under a different [user account or profile name]than you presently are using and/or you installed FSX for only the (then different) [user account or profile name].Most of us will find the "active" FSX scenery.Cfg file in:C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\FSX...because we install for "All users" under Windows rather than for ONLY a (current) [user account or profile name].BTW: If you do indeed have FSX properly installed and working, I suggest finding the most recently modified copy of FSX Scenery.Cfg by installing and using this excellent freeware utility:EverythingLocate files and folders by name instantly. installation, simply run the program with 'Administrator' permissions and allow it to do its relatively fast initial indexing.Then type Scenery.Cfg into the search field; it will find all instances of "Scenery.Cfg" on any number of (default) NTFS file system formatted drives installed in Windows on your local computer ...almost instantly ! Oh, and when it finds all instances of "Scenery.Cfg", it will grant access to them via its search dialog ...regardless of which [user account or profile name] folder chain the file is located inside of. FYI: The path to FSX.exe and a few FSX-related files are written into the Windows Registry during installation.But if ADE also reports that it cannot find certain FSX files when making scenery, it would be a good idea to restore the path to FSX.exe and a few FSX-related files (normally written into the Windows Registry during initial installation) by manually using this utility:FSX/FS9 Registry Repair ToolThis tool will repair your FSX or FS9 registry so that the path is valid. Many times certain applications use this path. If it is invalid, some programs may not work. It is late in the UK, so perhaps when Jon (aka "Scruffyduck") awakens, he will tell us what- if anything- we need to do to 'toggle' between FSX SDK and P3D version 3.x -or- 4.x SDK compiler sessions with ADE.
