Created by Haim Saban and adapted from the Japanese Super Sentai series, Power Rangers became a cultural phenomenon by combining action-packed footage from Super Sentai with new scenes featuring American actors. The franchise follows teams of young heroes who transform into Power Rangers to battle various villains, using martial arts, special powers, and giant mechas called Zords. Over the decades, the franchise has expanded into multiple TV series, films, comics, video games, and merchandise, becoming one of the most successful children's franchises in the world. Power Rangers Reboot Movie Is A Reminder Of The Cinematic Universe We Lost Too Soon A Power Rangers movie franchise covering not only MMPR but also the other shows could’ve been amazing, and the 2017 film showed that it could be done. Why Power Rangers 2 Never Happened (Despite A 7-Movie Plan) Power Rangers’ 2017 film was supposed to be the first entry in a franchise, but eight years later, we never got a sequel to the Mighty Morphin reboot. Every Power Rangers Movie, Ranked Worst To Best While Power Rangers will always be defined by the TV shows, the saga also includes a few Power Rangers movies, some of which are better than others. Why There Are Only 3 Power Rangers Movies (But Over 20 Worked. Power Rangers’ metallic armor did not look necessarily ugly. However, neither the buildup nor the potential of a “metallic Power Rangers suit” ever paid off. The idea of metallic armor suggested that the Power Rangers would finally wear armor rather than the usual spandex. Still, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers’ metallic armor was just the original suits but shiny. The Power Rangers episodes featuring the metallic armor were a highlight of the season, but the suits themselves were disappointing. Interestingly, the 1995 Power Rangers movie suits looked more like “metallic Power Rangers armor” than what the show tried to do. 7 Power Rangers Turbo Suits Gekisou Sentai Carranger’s suits had an interesting concept behind them – each helmet looked like the front of a car. However, as much as it was in brand for Power Rangers Turbo’s suits to look like a car, these costumes were just not as cool as the ones from Power Rangers Zeo. The transition from Power Rangers Zeo to Power Rangers Turbo was not well handled, especially because it was never explained why the Zeo powers had to be abandoned. Even though the Turbo suits were introduced in a movie, Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie, they felt like a downgrade compared to the instant-classic Power Rangers Zeo costumes. 6 2017’s Power Rangers Movie Suits The 2017 Power Rangers movie suits were innovative, visually interesting, and managed to capture the essence of the Mighty Morphin zords. That said, for a Power Rangers reboot designed to launch a Mighty Morphin movie series, Power Rangers (2017) needed more traditional suits. The 2017 Power Rangers movie costumes were radically different from the ones in Mighty Morphin, which made it difficult for audiences to associate them with a Power Rangers reboot. This new take on the Power Rangers universe did not have to replicate the Mighty Morphin suits, but something a bit closer to the original costumes could have helped the film. 5 2017’s Power Rangers Rita Repulsa Costume Power Rangers (2017) reinvented Power Rangers’ lore by establishing that Zordon and Rita Repulsa were the original Red and Green Rangers, respectively. Tying Rita Repulsa’s origin story with the Green Ranger was a very interesting idea, as Rita created the evil Green Ranger in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. Considering that every Power Rangers character, including Zordon, was redesigned for the film, it was expected that Rita Repulsa would get a new look too. Giving Rita a greenish color to evoke her Green Ranger origins made sense, but the final result was not too special. Rita Repulsa’s costume in Power Rangers (2017) lacked details and seemed more like a damaged Green Ranger suit than an actual Rita suit. Of course, this Rita

The Power Rangers’ costumes can make or break a Power Rangers show, and there are a few redesigns that belong in the list of worst Power Rangers suits. From Mighty Morphin Power Rangers to the upcoming Power Rangers Cosmic Fury, the Power Rangers universe has seen dozens of different costumes. Most of those originate from the Super Sentai series, although a few of them were crafted exclusively for Power Rangers. Nostalgia aside, the Mighty Morphin costumes help explain why Power Rangers became so popular. Kyouryu Sentai Zyuranger’s suits were simple, but their color schemes and the helmets looked perfectly on screen. Since then, Power Rangers has had some highs and lows when it comes to suits. Here are 10 Power Rangers costume redesigns that made the suits worse. Mighty Morphin Power Rangers’ Green Ranger was based on Zyuranger’s Knight Burai, the extra Ranger in the Super Sentai series. The Green Ranger’s suit is one of the most iconic Power Rangers costumes, much thanks to the unique chest shield. While the Green Ranger's costume itself was no different from the rest of the Rangers, the chest shield set him apart from the other characters. The problem is that, in the original American Power Rangers footage, the Green Ranger’s chest armor looked way too cheap. Even though the Zyuranger footage was a bit older than Mighty Morphin, the Japanese scenes featuring the Green Ranger always looked better than the American ones. A lot of the Green Ranger’s scenes in Mighty Morphin season 2 were original American footage, which can be noticed by the much-less-impressive chest armor. A similar problem happened with the White Ranger’s suit in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers season 3, during which most of the action sequences were from original American footage. In fact, the White Ranger was based on a different Super Sentai entirely, Gosei Sentai Dairanger. As such, any scene featuring the White Ranger fighting with the other Rangers was original footage. A comparison between Zyuranger’s Green Ranger scenes and Power Rangers’ original Green Rangers scenes highlights how much worse the latter looked. During Mighty Morphin Power Rangers season 1, the vast majority of the action scenes were borrowed from Kyouryu Sentai Zyuranger. However, given how successful Mighty Morphin Power Rangers had become, the show began to use original footage shot in-house a lot more during season 2. Zyuranger only had 50 episodes, whereas Mighty Morphin went on to have 145 episodes. Obviously, so much additional footage meant that the Power Rangers had to use original suits. Similar to what happened to the Green Ranger’s costume, the American Power Rangers suits did not look quite as good as the Zyuranger ones. More specifically, the long white neck never By kamenrider64 • Created 11 years ago • Modified 3 months ago152 peopleJason David Frank is well-known for his role of Tommy Oliver in the long-running family television show Power Rangers.
